Hello Roy,

We met last weekend at Hivale organic farm and I purchased a copy of your book. I have just finished reading it and have enjoyed following your winding path to success. I have found your book inspiring, it has got me thinking again about how to publish my art. I have painted on and off as an amateur for most of my life, since dad gave me a paintbox at about the age of nine. I have no formal art training but have attended art classes etc. over the years. All the artists I have met (up until last Sunday) are poor, and I concluded at an early age that there was no money in being an artist, so, like you, I pursued a different career. Also I have never tried to sell my paintings because theres no profit in selling them; I have considered making prints but could not work out how to market them. I am a member of the Alfred Cove Arts society and the Pastel society, and am no Rembrandt, but most other artists I work with seem to think my work is attractive and marketable, they try to persuade me to enter exhibitions but I can see little profit in perusing this avenue. I paint because I love it! Reading your book has inspired me to have another look at how to go about marketing.

Thanks for writing the book, and persuading me to buy it.

Regards
Clive Jarman.

Thank you for your very encouraging email. Do you think that the arts and pastel society would be interested in an hour's talk from me. I would not charge for it as it would give me an opportunity to put my book infront of other artists?
Perhaps you could let me know. Should you wish to discuss your work with me you can do that via my website or email some photographs.
Best Wishes
Roy
